Relaxing...

Woohoo it's finally my day off, I have today and tomorrow. We were suppose to go to Vancouver yesterday after work but since we got stuck on a long traffic jam for almost an hour in Squamish so my husband just decided to turn around and go home. I really wanna see my parents in law though, but at the same time I am dying to sleep in and rest, since I never have the chance to have enough sleep these past days even though I'm so damn tired everyday after work. Anyways, I'm liking this job that I have right now though it can be very physically demanding, I know its worth it because of the good benefits and also there's lots of Filipinoes in there. So I'm really looking forward to have a good close true friend/s. So like what I said my hubby and I slept in today til 1am (we have the same days off for this week) did a general cleaning the whole day and just chill out and relax, it's so nice specially on a rainiy day like this. As for my beauty regimen, I am not wearing any makeup, wanna rest my face and boy I realize that I am ligther again, only a week ago I am darker that even my EDM Olive-medium foundation was way ligther for me, that's why I made another order (Buff Beige-Neutral) for when I super tan, oh boy maybe I'll get darker again when the sun goes out. Now I learned that I easily get dark but gain my usual fall/winter skin tone with in a week of "no-sun" exposure, it's very inconsistent........grrrrrr, oh well. Anyways enjoys your day guys and have a great day!

Makeup Tips for Oily Skin

Wearing makeup when you have oily skin can be troubling at times. I know because I have extremely oily skin myself, so I'm constantly looking in the mirror every couple of hours to see if my nose is glaring. I've asked my dermatologist if there is anything he could prescribe to suppress the production of oil, and unfortunately his response was "no". He did point out that I will still look great at 50 years old, which does help the situation.
dd
Over the years I've learned how to cope with some very useful products and tips that I'm sure will benefit you as well:
dd
1. Blot powder - This is a wonderful product that I carry around with me everyday in my purse. It comes in a compact with a powder puff, similar to sheer powder. Instead of touching up with more makeup or sheer powder, I use blot powder. It's translucent, so I can get rid of the oiliness without caking more makeup onto my face. Another advantage is that my makeup lasts longer because I'm not reapplying it throughout the day.
d
2. Blotting papers - These can be found anywhere - from beauty supply stores to cosmetic counters. These are small oil-absorbing sheets of paper that come in a small package that you can easily carry around with you throughout the day. All you have to do is dab the oily areas of your face - typically the forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin. The papers will absorb the oil without leaving a powdery substance on your face or removing your makeup.
d
3. Oil-control lotion - You can purchase this at almost any cosmetic counter. It's very easy to apply and you can wear it under your makeup. Just dab a little on the oily areas of your face and blend outward. It controls shine and provides a matte finish. Most oil-control lotions work really well, but you may have to decrease the use if you find that your skin gets dry and starts flaking.
d
4. Facial Tissue - When all else fails, grab a sheet of tissue paper! Besides using a blot powder, facial tissue is another product that I use throughout the day as well. Most are 2-ply, but it works better if you separate them and use 1-ply. They're almost as useful as the blotting papers, and a lot cheaper too! Try to avoid buying ones that have fragrance or color because it may irritate your skin and cause breakouts.
d
5. Cleanser/Moisturizer - Neither of these will absorb oil or block out the production, but they should be part of your everyday skincare routine. Always opt for a cleanser that is oil-free, and there are some great ones that are specifically made for oily skin. Your moisturizer should be water based with SPF15 or greater and be labeled as "noncomedogenic". Your cleansing and moisturizing routine should be implemented morning and night to avoid clogging pores.
d
6. Foundation makeup - Should be labeled "oil free" to prevent adding unnecessary oil to your face. Because I love a matte look, my everyday foundation contains powder, and comes in a powder compact. Foundation that is water-based or oil free come in various shades for many cosmetics lines, so you should not have a problem finding one that is right for you.

1st day at work look...

Just wanna share this pic, this is what I look like at my 1st day at work. I hate it but I always have to wake up as early as 5am everyday just to get ready to get off to work at 7:30am. My brain spends 15 mins. convincing my eyes to open and my body to get up. After that I spend an hour putting a little bit of makeup on and trying to figure out what my hair style would be...sigh (a stressful moment in a girl's life...lol) What can I say? My makeup did stay all day with the help of my Monistat as a foundation primer, only blotted after 4 hours, but stil I hate the way my face goes oily after that. Anyways here's the before and after pics, the one at the right is what my makeup looks like after 10 hours of heaving it...

August 12, 2008 - Moving on...Happily!

Its been along day for me today, woke up at 5am and pushed my self to get off from bed ath quarter to 6 because I might just fell asleep if I close my eyes, and ofcourse I don't wanna be late for my first day at work. Well, today I din't really clean rooms, but read some books bout the hotel's standards and tour the different type of rooms, and boy information over load! I think I just have to get used to it like what I did at the Delta before, all those mini details on how to arrange stuff in the room., have to be on my routine, maybe after a wekk of doing it I'll be fine. But for now have to register it on my brains, boy I'm so happy I have 2 days off (Wednesday and Thrusday) I'll continue my training on Friday, Elijah my african trainor, I must say that his really good and patient. Oh well let's all pray for the best, and today, well actually yesterday (Philippine's day 12th) was my grandma's 1 year death anniversary. Yeah its been a year since she rest in peace, yes I do miss her alot but for sure she don't like seeing me sad and I know she must have talked to "THE MAN" so I can finally have this job, because come to think of it I start exactly the same day she passed away. A year ago I was so sad and now I'm happy that I'm starting on my new job and the process of accepting the truth that my grandma is at peace right now is a ligther for me, of course I miss her alot but I try to remember only the happy memories we shared, because I don't wanna get sad. So Nay, where ever you are, thank you...

Another trip to Vancouver

Just got back from Vancouver today from our 2 days mini vacation there. Took a bus going there since my hubby forgot to put propane in out van and it was B.C. Day too last Monday that's why the propane station was closed. It was my first time taking a bus to Vancouver which not really comfortable at all with all the stop over, took us 3 hours to get there (I hate it!) Anyways, my parents in law pick us up at by the bus station and went straight ahead to the Spanish Banks, it was low tide that day and boy it was cooking hot, feels like the Philippines, chill out there and had dinner, I took videos actually like 6x but I ended up deleting them since I don't like them at all :(. Anyways, the next day we went to Repo (they sell used cars & boats) after much concideration, my hubby finally decided to buy a black 2004 Kia Sedona Mini-van. Yey! I love our old van so much but since its 23 yrs. old now, we just have to let it go and move on :(, I do have we can have a great deal with it if we ever sell it, but I really wanna keep it as well but then a gain it will cost us alot if we do so were still thinking about it. Anyways, here are some pics from our trip to Vancouver...

Me w/o Makeup...

As you all know, I love makeups and I love taking care of my skin as well, even though I hate having a routine every night after a very tiring day from work, I just wanna lie down and sleep. But still I try to stick to my facial care regimen for it to be effective. Ok so ever wonder what I look like without makeup? Except for my eyebrows of course (never took a pic w/o filling in my eyebrows) Here they are, din't do any editing on these pics so you'll really see what my nude-bare face looks like and except for the fact that I just work up and not enough sleep so please excuse the eyebugs...lol (Warning: viewer discretion is strongly adviced...wehehe)

Mini haul & a lazy day...

I am bored & lazy today (whats new?!?!...lol) Was suppose to join Lillian's house party today but I really don't feel like doing anything, so after cleaning the house, I decided to go at the village and just roam around the pharmacy. I heard a lot of fuss about this Monistat Chafing powder-gel, they said that its a good foundation primer specially for oily skin, so I just have to try it for myself, so I bought one. I hope it won't break me out tho. I saw a Neautrogena eyemakeup remover so I bought that as well. Anyways, will be going to Vancouver tomorrow to visit my parents in law before I start working and get stuck here in Whistler, hopefully it will be a good weather for our road trip. Since I love hopping in the van chill out with my ipod while my hubby drives (nice, what a life...lol)
